We Have Lost Our Soul

Today will go down in history as one of the worst days in US history.
I have nothing left inside but despair, thank god, I can still get drunk.

Masters of War - Redux

Below is the new video for Bob Dylan's classic "Masters of War". I have the original at home on a CD, but I have no idea how to get it online. It's pretty much the same, but the Master was Nixon.
I posted the lyrics about a year ago here. Here are the highlights:
You that never done nothin', But build to destroy
You play with my world, Like it's your little toy

Like Judas of old, You lie and deceive
A world war can be won, You want me to believe

You might say that I'm young, You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know, Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never, Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question, Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness, Do you think that it could

I think you will find, When your death takes it toll
All the money you made, Will never buy back your soul

Credit Where Credit is Deserved

I am unable to edit the video below, but I must give credit to Blackdogred at Best of the Blogs.
If you haven't check them out, do so.

This is one of the most moving videos I have ever seen, the lyrics speak for themselves and they speak for me loudy. For one reason of another, a verse is missing from Guthrie's original:
In the shadow of the steeple I saw my people,
By the relief office I seen my people;
As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking
Is this land made for you and me?
This is not only our land, it's our country, filled our people. That is my definition of America.

Bound For Glory-Woody Guthrie

If this video has no effect on you, leave.

This is a tribute to Woody Guthrie singing " This Land is Your Land" with Bruce Springsteen, Bono, John Mellencamp, Little Richard and Emmylou Harris.

Despicable

Alright, you get it, I hate Walmart, but what I despise is the loathsome characters that are the beneficiaries of Walmart despicable business practices.

Forbes just came out with the 400 worlds richest people. The first time in history, you have to be a billionaire to make the list. Guess all those tax cuts will trickle down next year.

So the Walton's are tied at #7, each with a net worth of $16,500,000,000. That is combined net worth of $82.5 billion. Bill and Melinda Gates are worth $40.7, and Warren Buffett is worth $30.5 billion . So why do I hate the Waltons so fricken much ?

1) Care to guess who paid over a 1/2 million to get the
estate tax repealed and which people campaigned for the estate tax ?
2) Care to guess who have more employees without health insurance, you know the stuff we use to take our babies to the doctor when they are sick ?
3) Care to guess who has more employees making 6 figures ?
4) Care to guess who gave the B & M Gates Foundation
85% of his wealth ?
5) Care to guess who's major donation is $300 to the university of Arkansas with restrictions. All other miniscule donations go to republican action committees and school voucher programs ?
6) Care to guess who owns companies that are a drain on the economy, including
a majority of employees on government programs, which means you and me subsidize their income ?

No need to answer, this is a Walton family bashing, so I think all the answers are fairly obvious.

Top is Helen, their mother, next is Alice, John, Jim, and Rob.

I think you get the idea, and for the record, john was killed in June in a plane wreck, and is survived by his wife Christy.

This is probably the most disgusting family to ever walk the Earth, and I hope at some moment, they will all get what they so richly deserve. Burn in hell you greedy sorry sacks of pig shit.

Hope those mansions keep you well insulated from the families you make suffer because your pathetic views on employee working conditions. I wish you could see them suffer every day the way you will suffer when you sad existence on this planet ends.

Captan Crunch is Denied

When the republican klowns in Congress deny your confirmation you might look in the mirror and realize you are the biggest political hack to every represent the US. But I doubt it.

Liberal Media at it Again

In case you have stuck you head in the sand or love Fox News, Afghanistan is slipping away. But leave it to our liberal media to pay more attention to a photographer then to actual news.

Liberal Media is like saying healthy Ice Cream, just because people say it, doesn't make it true. Follow the money, and most big Media is owned by rich old crusty white dudes Republicans.

O'Reilly on al Qaeda Death List

Come on folks, this is O'Reilly, I can't imagine him ever getting the facts straight.

The "Death List" non-sense has pretty much been debunked, even by Fox News executives. Someone forgot to explain to O'Reilly that "Death to America" doesn't mean they actually coming after him. I love Keith and his sharp humor, especially when it's directed at O'Reilly. Check it out at Crooks & Liars.

Olbermann "Who in the hell do you root for in that fight ?"

HPD Officer Rodney Johnson, RIP

Yesterday one of Houston's finest was killed in the line of duty. Details Here.

I am not a big fan of the police, but only because I hate tickets. Truth be told, these are the guys between us and some pretty damn scary people. In a big city, the police are all you have, and for that I respect them. The guys truly put the lives on the line every day.

RIP Rodney

Prisons, Torture, and Dead People

Bush's May 01, 2004 radio address:
"One year later, despite many challenges, life for the Iraqi people is a world away from the cruelty and corruption of Saddam's regime. At the most basic level of justice, people are no longer disappearing into political prisons, torture chambers, and mass graves -- because the former dictator is in prison, himself."

Let's see, according to Cock Boy himself, we have political prison and we do torture, so I am assuming that we have torture rooms. The good news, no mass graves... only about 45,000 civilian single graves.

How are we better then Saddam, I keep forgetting ??

Wing Nut Logic

My favorite rapid dog, Bill O'Rielly had Senator Al D'Amato NY(R) stop by to discuss torture. This would priceless if it wasn't so damn sickening. D'Amato said:
"McCain should receive 'a pass on this' because he was 'so traumatized by the events that took place' during his captivity in the Vietnam War."
What the Fuck ???

McCain should not enter the torture debate because he was too 'traumatized' by torture. Do these fuckers even listen to the vile crap that comes out of their mouths ?

O'Rielly/D'Amato, if McCain was so traumatized by torture that he is not qualified to comment on it, maybe this torture business is bad.

Got it, torture is bad because it fucks people up.

The Republican Lex Luther

Cock Boy says (2006):
"Bin Laden and his terrorist allies have made their intentions as clear as Lenin and Hitler before them,"
Cock Boy says (2003)
" (OBL) not a top priority use of American resources."
Cock Boy says (2001)
"I want Bin Laden Dead "
So first Cock Boy wants his ass, then not so much, then he compares him to Hitler and Stalin.
Call me crazy, but if we actual did capture him, what would Cock Boy use to scare the country before an election ?? OSL is the republican Lex Luther, he can not be captured, because unlike the movies, he would never escape for Superman II & III, or elections 2006 & 2008.

Quote of the Month

May 8, 2006
"Congressman Ney's (R-OH) spokesman Brian Walsh has made the following statement regarding today's guilty plea of former aide Neil Volz:... the Congressman will not under any circumstances plead guilty to a crime that he did not commit."
September 15, 2006
"Republican Rep. Bob Ney of Ohio pleaded guilty Friday to federal charges in the congressional investigation into corruption and bribery involving disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, according to the Justice Department."

"Congressman Ney admits that he corruptly solicited and accepted a stream of benefits, valued at tens of thousands of dollars, in exchange for agreeing to perform, and performing, a series of official acts."
Finally an honest Republican, well dishonest, then inadvertently honest.

Is it just me or are Republicans cheap. Seriously, these guys make around $150k, with perks, they probably make over $200k. I am not the most honest guy around, but tens of thousands of dollars for a man who was a in office for 11 years ?? A best that is like seven grand, at worse, like three grand a year to sell out your country. What a pathetic joke you are Bob Ney.

FUCK YOU and you god damn five grand a year ass. Enjoy prison where I am sure that same ass will be worth a couple of packs of smokes, at best.

Let's Get This Straight Cock Boy

Mr. President,
Let's get one thing straight, your job is not to protect the American people, your job is to protect & serve the US Constitution. Remember your oath ?
Note: We only have one Constitution, there is not a war Constitution and a peace Constitution.
Got it ??

Say it Ain't So, Dog

From Talk Left:
Oh, no! My pal Duane Chapman, also known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, was arrested by U.S. Marshals today on an extradition warrant out of Mexico for his actions in apprehending since convicted multiple date-rapist Max Factor heir Andrew Luster.

Civil War Redux

I don't know why, but I love the word 'Redux'.

The military is running out of people, almost 3000 deaths and 20,000 maimed, and they aren't meeting their recruitment goals. What to do, what to do ??

I have a solution, those Mexicans we all hate would make great frontline soldiers. By this article count, almost 40,000 illigals have signed up in hopes of getting citizenship.

So once they fight our battle and get citizenship do you thing the haters will welcome them home with open arms or do you think they will act like they have no right to be here, no answer required.

Note, last week we have more official deaths in Iraq then 9/11.

I Am Back, Redux

OK, So I have been gone for a long time, like 6 months, but I am back.
This is my first and most likely last, fluff piece.

A couple of nights ago I was watching football of all things and there is Christy Brinkley advertising some miracle face cream. Anyways so she says something to the effect of "Would I like to be 25 again, not a chance". So I look over to my friend and we both bust out laughing. I mean seriously, a supermodel at 52 saying should would never want to be 25 is just plain funny.

So why is this making my blog, because today I am browsing the Chronicle, and guess who's getting a divorce because her husband rode an 18 years old like a chinese washing machine ?

Rest in Peace, Mate

Steve Irwin 1962-2006

Steve was a man's man. Although he sought out the most dangerous creatures on the planet, he never hurt them or used them to promote himself. He was a educator, an environmentalist, and just all around likeable guy. And it's unfortunate that he time came so soon. He took on the most dangerous creatures of the world with a 'Crikey' and a smile.

He loved animals, dangerous or not, and made the world a better place for them.

The world was a better place with Steve Irwin in it. Steve you will be missed

Note, this is not what Steve was about.
