Behind Blue Eyes

I can clearly remember when and where I heard the song Behind Blue Eyes by The Who. I think it the best piece of Rock & Roll ever written.

It was one of those defining moments, when I realized how much I love death and destruction.

And for me the song has an entirely different meaning, but this works too. Fucking Bush.

You Say Osama, I Say Obama, Again & Again

This is funny as hell.
  • First CNN posts a picture of Osama labeled "Where's Obama?". They apologize.
  • Next, Yahoo post a picture of Obama labeled "Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida". I am sure an apology is coming.
Here the funny part, when the link is followed at Yahoo, to the right there is a caption, "You say Osama, we say Obama: US Network apologizes over mix-up"

Some people are making a stink, who cares, but I think the real issue is this. What has happened to the media, namely it's editing. Have they become so lazy and so inept that they can't even make sure the same silly mistake isn't made day after day.

Where have the professional journalists/editors gone ??????

The Truth Will Set You Free

With the release of the ISG - Iraqi Study Group Report yesterday it seems as if they don't see eye-to-eye with Cock Boy, but that won't stop Tony Talltales from spewing his non-sence.

Q: It’s kind of a totality question, though. How you can hear these things and not conclude that it’s rejection of the President’s policy?

MR. SNOW: Well, number one, “stay the course” is not the policy…. [Y]ou need to understand that trying to frame it in a partisan way is actually at odds with what the Group, itself, says it wanted to do. And so you may try to do whatever you want in terms of rejection, that’s not the way they view it.

Q: I just want to be clear. Are you suggesting that I’m trying to frame this in a partisan way?

MR. SNOW: Yes.

Q: You are? Based on … quoting the report and the Chairman, and I’m asking you a straight question, which you’re not answering straight, you’re actually … nitpicking it.

Q: You’re suggesting that by quoting the report, I’m trying to make a partisan argument?

MR. SNOW: Let me put it this way. Where in the report — what you have said is, can you read this as anything other than a repudiation of policy. And the answer is, I can.

Got it, it doesn't specifically say reject Cock Boy's policies, it only says every single thing he has done has been either ineffective and/or escalated the situation.

Reminds me of something.......
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Joseph Goebbels
The truth has been and will continue to haunt Cock Boy for a long, long, long, time.

Hey Cock Boy Listen Up

This is an excerpt The Carpetbagger had concerning the ISG report rumoring withdrawal by 2008.

The quote is funny as hell.
At the Democratic convention in Chicago in 1968, while his policemen were beating up the demonstrators along the Loop and in Lincoln Park, Mayor Richard Daley apparently told Lyndon Johnson that it was time to pull the troops out of Vietnam, once and for all. “How am I to do this?” Johnson asked pleadingly. To which Daley is said to have replied: “You put the fu**ing troops on the fu**ing planes and you get them out of there!”

Cock Boy Finally Reports to Vietnam

Cock Boy leaves today for an eight-day trip to Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam

Funny from the Chronicle:

Q: How is Vietnam different from Iraq?

A: Bush had a plan for getting out of Vietnam.

Attention Wignuts

So, we have control of Congress and Pelosi has said it's not going to be a witch hunt. I agree, going and after Bush and Cheney is not productive for the country. We need to focus on getting this country back to it's former glory.

That being said, does anyone know who is in line after the VP for Presidency ?

"I know, I know, Speaker of the House !!!" So in fantasy land where Bush and Cheney both get impeached, we would have PRESIDENT PELOSI.

If that doesn't make a few people cringe. Fortunately it's the people I most want cringing.

The Fucking Balls

So the Fucktard OJ Simpson is coming out with a new book.
Any guesses to what it is about ?? The working title is after the image.

"If I did it, Here's How it Happened"

I am assuming that is is going to be a walk through of the murders he was acquitted of.

Fox, Grand Champion of Propaganda

In case it's too small to read, the quote is "Are liberal blogs sending the same message as terrorist ?"

Normally this kind of non-sense speaks for it's self, but today I am especially bored and feel like I need to expand a little on the question.

Am I sending the same message as the terrorist ? I don't really know what message the terrorists are sending. If they are saying that America is a bunch of self-serving jackasses that have disregarded all basic moral values for personal gain, then yes, I am sending the same message. The distinction of course is that when they speak of America, they are referring to the current, but soon to be out, group of "self-serving jackasses that have disregarded all basic moral values for personal gain".

Some have been elected out, and others have been dragged out kicking and screamin in hand-cuffs.

So to answer Fox's question, yes, I am sending the messages, but in January my answer will be a unequivocal 'NO'.

Quote of the Election

Grover Norquist’s stunning election analysis: “Bob Sherwood’s seat [in Pennsylvania] would have been overwhelmingly ours, if his mistress hadn’t whined about being throttled,” said Mr Norquist. Any lessons from the campaign? “Yes. The lesson should be, don’t throttle mistresses.”

Hmmm, funny how the party of value doesn't care that you catually have a mistress these days, just don't hrottle the bitch. Nice.

Need a Reason to Vote

From The New York Times:
"This election is indeed about George W. Bush — and the Congressional majority’s insistence on protecting him from the consequences of his mistakes and misdeeds. Mr. Bush lost the popular vote in 2000 and proceeded to govern as if he had an enormous mandate. After he actually beat his opponent in 2004, he announced he now had real political capital and intended to spend it. We have seen the results. It is frightening to contemplate the new excesses he could concoct if he woke up next Wednesday and found that his party had maintained its hold on the House and Senate."

Who Says Cock Jokes Aren't Funny ?

I love jokes, but this one is too easy...
It's Bush and Foley.

It's all About the Children

Would someone please ask Hastert if protecting children or the republican party is more important to him.

He keeps saying that he resignation will not help the party, what does that have to do with anything ?

He should resign because he knew about and allowed a man to have indecent contact with boys. In the real world, he would probably be looking at a little jail time.

Jesus, these people, if my one employee was doing this and I knew about it, and my boss found out, I doubt they would let me grab my keys before tossing me out the door.

Fantasyland/Neverland/Washington all one in the same.

Liberal Media at it Again

So O'Reilly decided to spin Foley as a democrat, but it continues.

Top headline has Foley as democrat and the second has Hastert as a democrat as well. This is seriously getting pathetic.

Hanity blamed it on Clinton claiming Monica was 19, she was 22, and Sean she was an adult. When are the democrats and Clinton in particular going to stop getting blamed for every single GOP scandal ?

I would imagine once Cock Boy decides that Global Warming is really happening, it will be Bill's fault too.

Seems like I have a vague recollection of them not wanting to play the 'blame game'.

The Uber Spin Zone

How do Fox News & O'Reilly spin a Republican sex scandal ??

Easy, change the (R-FL) to (D-FL).
No mistake, they ran it at least three times yesterday. This was no mistake, but lets' pretend it was, how many employees would be out if the situation were reversed.

Or maybe he switched parties before the indictments.

Fair and balanced, baby !!!

The Foley Pages Used to be a Flyer

Looks like Macy's dissolved Foley's just in time, because the word Foley is the new five letter F-word. I don't really have much to say, but it has been a long time since pretty much every single person in the county has come to agreement about a politicians behavior.

The one thing that keeps sticking in my mind is the word page, Merriam-Webster:
1 a (1) : a youth being trained for the medieval rank of knight and in the personal service of a knight (2) : a youth attendant on a person of rank especially in the medieval period b : a boy serving as an honorary attendant at a formal function (as a wedding)

2 : one employed to deliver messages, assist patrons, serve as a guide, or attend to similar duties
Would it kill Washington call these kids high school interns ? When I think of the word page, I think of some long ago man/boy love relationship, it just seems very weird to me.

Masters of War - Redux

Below is the new video for Bob Dylan's classic "Masters of War". I have the original at home on a CD, but I have no idea how to get it online. It's pretty much the same, but the Master was Nixon.
I posted the lyrics about a year ago here. Here are the highlights:
You that never done nothin', But build to destroy
You play with my world, Like it's your little toy

Like Judas of old, You lie and deceive
A world war can be won, You want me to believe

You might say that I'm young, You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know, Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never, Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question, Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness, Do you think that it could

I think you will find, When your death takes it toll
All the money you made, Will never buy back your soul

Bob Dylan's MASTERS of WAR (1963) ~ A Video For Our Times

Music: Bob Dylan, 1963
Video: J.J. Barney, 2006

Credit Where Credit is Deserved

I am unable to edit the video below, but I must give credit to Blackdogred at Best of the Blogs.
If you haven't check them out, do so.

This is one of the most moving videos I have ever seen, the lyrics speak for themselves and they speak for me loudy. For one reason of another, a verse is missing from Guthrie's original:
In the shadow of the steeple I saw my people,
By the relief office I seen my people;
As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking
Is this land made for you and me?
This is not only our land, it's our country, filled our people. That is my definition of America.

Bound For Glory-Woody Guthrie

If this video has no effect on you, leave.

This is a tribute to Woody Guthrie singing " This Land is Your Land" with Bruce Springsteen, Bono, John Mellencamp, Little Richard and Emmylou Harris.

Alright, you get it, I hate Walmart, but what I despise is the loathsome characters that are the beneficiaries of Walmart despicable business practices.

Forbes just came out with the 400 worlds richest people. The first time in history, you have to be a billionaire to make the list. Guess all those tax cuts will trickle down next year.

So the Walton's are tied at #7, each with a net worth of $16,500,000,000. That is combined net worth of $82.5 billion. Bill and Melinda Gates are worth $40.7, and Warren Buffett is worth $30.5 billion . So why do I hate the Waltons so fricken much ?

1) Care to guess who paid over a 1/2 million to get the
estate tax repealed and which people campaigned for the estate tax ?
2) Care to guess who have more employees without health insurance, you know the stuff we use to take our babies to the doctor when they are sick ?
3) Care to guess who has more employees making 6 figures ?
4) Care to guess who gave the B & M Gates Foundation
85% of his wealth ?
5) Care to guess who's major donation is $300 to the university of Arkansas with restrictions. All other miniscule donations go to republican action committees and school voucher programs ?
6) Care to guess who owns companies that are a drain on the economy, including
a majority of employees on government programs, which means you and me subsidize their income ?

No need to answer, this is a Walton family bashing, so I think all the answers are fairly obvious.

Top is Helen, their mother, next is Alice, John, Jim, and Rob.

I think you get the idea, and for the record, john was killed in June in a plane wreck, and is survived by his wife Christy.

This is probably the most disgusting family to ever walk the Earth, and I hope at some moment, they will all get what they so richly deserve. Burn in hell you greedy sorry sacks of pig shit.

Hope those mansions keep you well insulated from the families you make suffer because your pathetic views on employee working conditions. I wish you could see them suffer every day the way you will suffer when you sad existence on this planet ends.

Captan Crunch is Denied

When the republican klowns in Congress deny your confirmation you might look in the mirror and realize you are the biggest political hack to every represent the US. But I doubt it.

Liberal Media at it Again

In case you have stuck you head in the sand or love Fox News, Afghanistan is slipping away. But leave it to our liberal media to pay more attention to a photographer then to actual news.

Liberal Media is like saying healthy Ice Cream, just because people say it, doesn't make it true. Follow the money, and most big Media is owned by rich old crusty white dudes Republicans.

O'Reilly on al Qaeda Death List

Come on folks, this is O'Reilly, I can't imagine him ever getting the facts straight.

The "Death List" non-sense has pretty much been debunked, even by Fox News executives. Someone forgot to explain to O'Reilly that "Death to America" doesn't mean they actually coming after him. I love Keith and his sharp humor, especially when it's directed at O'Reilly. Check it out at Crooks & Liars.

HPD Officer Rodney Johnson, RIP

Yesterday one of Houston's finest was killed in the line of duty. Details Here.

I am not a big fan of the police, but only because I hate tickets. Truth be told, these are the guys between us and some pretty damn scary people. In a big city, the police are all you have, and for that I respect them. The guys truly put the lives on the line every day.

Prisons, Torture, and Dead People

Bush's May 01, 2004 radio address:
"One year later, despite many challenges, life for the Iraqi people is a world away from the cruelty and corruption of Saddam's regime. At the most basic level of justice, people are no longer disappearing into political prisons, torture chambers, and mass graves -- because the former dictator is in prison, himself."

Let's see, according to Cock Boy himself, we have political prison and we do torture, so I am assuming that we have torture rooms. The good news, no mass graves... only about 45,000 civilian single graves.

How are we better then Saddam, I keep forgetting ??

Wing Nut Logic

My favorite rapid dog, Bill O'Rielly had Senator Al D'Amato NY(R) stop by to discuss torture. This would priceless if it wasn't so damn sickening. D'Amato said:
"McCain should receive 'a pass on this' because he was 'so traumatized by the events that took place' during his captivity in the Vietnam War."
What the Fuck ???

McCain should not enter the torture debate because he was too 'traumatized' by torture. Do these fuckers even listen to the vile crap that comes out of their mouths ?

O'Rielly/D'Amato, if McCain was so traumatized by torture that he is not qualified to comment on it, maybe this torture business is bad.

Got it, torture is bad because it fucks people up.

The Republican Lex Luther

Cock Boy says (2006):
"Bin Laden and his terrorist allies have made their intentions as clear as Lenin and Hitler before them,"
Cock Boy says (2003)
" (OBL) not a top priority use of American resources."
Cock Boy says (2001)
"I want Bin Laden Dead "
So first Cock Boy wants his ass, then not so much, then he compares him to Hitler and Stalin.
Call me crazy, but if we actual did capture him, what would Cock Boy use to scare the country before an election ?? OSL is the republican Lex Luther, he can not be captured, because unlike the movies, he would never escape for Superman II & III, or elections 2006 & 2008.

Quote of the Month

May 8, 2006
"Congressman Ney's (R-OH) spokesman Brian Walsh has made the following statement regarding today's guilty plea of former aide Neil Volz:... the Congressman will not under any circumstances plead guilty to a crime that he did not commit."
September 15, 2006
"Republican Rep. Bob Ney of Ohio pleaded guilty Friday to federal charges in the congressional investigation into corruption and bribery involving disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, according to the Justice Department."

"Congressman Ney admits that he corruptly solicited and accepted a stream of benefits, valued at tens of thousands of dollars, in exchange for agreeing to perform, and performing, a series of official acts."
Finally an honest Republican, well dishonest, then inadvertently honest.

Is it just me or are Republicans cheap. Seriously, these guys make around $150k, with perks, they probably make over $200k. I am not the most honest guy around, but tens of thousands of dollars for a man who was a in office for 11 years ?? A best that is like seven grand, at worse, like three grand a year to sell out your country. What a pathetic joke you are Bob Ney.

FUCK YOU and you god damn five grand a year ass. Enjoy prison where I am sure that same ass will be worth a couple of packs of smokes, at best.

Let's Get This Straight Cock Boy

Mr. President,

Say it Ain't So, Dog

From Talk Left:
Oh, no! My pal Duane Chapman, also known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, was arrested by U.S. Marshals today on an extradition warrant out of Mexico for his actions in apprehending since convicted multiple date-rapist Max Factor heir Andrew Luster.

Civil War Redux

I don't know why, but I love the word 'Redux'.

The military is running out of people, almost 3000 deaths and 20,000 maimed, and they aren't meeting their recruitment goals. What to do, what to do ??

I have a solution, those Mexicans we all hate would make great frontline soldiers. By this article count, almost 40,000 illigals have signed up in hopes of getting citizenship.

So once they fight our battle and get citizenship do you thing the haters will welcome them home with open arms or do you think they will act like they have no right to be here, no answer required.

Note, last week we have more official deaths in Iraq then 9/11.

I Am Back, Redux

OK, So I have been gone for a long time, like 6 months, but I am back.
This is my first and most likely last, fluff piece.

A couple of nights ago I was watching football of all things and there is Christy Brinkley advertising some miracle face cream. Anyways so she says something to the effect of "Would I like to be 25 again, not a chance". So I look over to my friend and we both bust out laughing. I mean seriously, a supermodel at 52 saying should would never want to be 25 is just plain funny.

So why is this making my blog, because today I am browsing the Chronicle, and guess who's getting a divorce because her husband rode an 18 years old like a chinese washing machine ?

Rest in Peace, Mate

Steve Irwin 1962-2006

Steve was a man's man. Although he sought out the most dangerous creatures on the planet, he never hurt them or used them to promote himself. He was a educator, an environmentalist, and just all around likeable guy. And it's unfortunate that he time came so soon. He took on the most dangerous creatures of the world with a 'Crikey' and a smile.

He loved animals, dangerous or not, and made the world a better place for them.

The world was a better place with Steve Irwin in it. Steve you will be missed

I want to weigh in on Cheney's little mishap in Texas, but the damn story keeps changing, literally, from minute to minute. First it was a friendly spray, then shot in the face, then a pellet in the heart. Now it sounds like the first hand witness accounts are changing as well.

We will never know what happened, but the post-shooting behaviors of Cheney leave little doubt in my mind that something really fucked-up went down. Or he just has contempt for everyone in the world including the guy he just shot.

Typical White House playbook from KOS:
Step 1: Screw-up
Step 2: Evade, spin, and Cover-up
Step 3: When it's too late Show-up
Step 4: Quietly Lawyer-up
Step 5: Finally, promise to cooperate and then Clam-up

Step 6: Voters are Fed-up
Step 6a: The guilty are Locked-up
A couple of notes:
  • Two men and two women on a hunting trip without their spouses. It's so Clintonian.
  • Cheney is going on Fox to make a statement tonight, what a fucken joke.
  • This is the third least important news about Cheney last week. Look here & here.

None of My Goddamn Business

Who is this willful woman, Anne Lamott.
But then I announced that I needed to speak out on behalf of the many women present in the crowd, including myself, who had had abortions, and the women whose daughters might need one in the not-too-distant future — people who must know that teenage girls will have abortions, whether in clinics or dirty backrooms. Women whose lives had been righted and redeemed by Roe vs. Wade. My answer was met with some applause but mostly a shocked silence.

Pall is a good word. And it did not feel good to be the cause of that pall. I knew what I was supposed to have said, as a progressive Christian: that it's all very complicated and painful, and that Jim was right in saying that the abortion rate in America is way too high for a caring and compassionate society.

But I did the only thing I could think to do: plunge on, and tell my truth. I said that this is the most intimate decision a woman makes, and she makes it all alone, in her deepest heart of hearts, sometimes with the man by whom she is pregnant, with her dearest friends or with her doctor — but without the personal opinion of say, Tom DeLay or Karl Rove.

I said I could not believe that men committed to equality and civil rights were still challenging the basic rights of women. I thought about all the photo-ops at which President Bush had signed legislation limiting abortion rights, surrounded by 10 or so white, self-righteous married men, who have forced God knows how many girlfriends into doing God knows what. I thought of the time Bush appeared on stage with children born from frozen embryos, children he calls "snowflake babies," and of the embryos themselves, which he calls the youngest and most vulnerable Americans.

And somehow, as I was answering, I got louder and maybe even more emphatic than I actually felt, and said it was not a morally ambiguous issue for me at all. I said that fetuses are not babies yet; that there was actually a real difference between pro-abortion people, like me, and Klaus Barbie.

Then I said that a woman's right to choose was nobody else's goddamn business. This got their attention.
I don't really know where I stand on abortion, both sides making compelling arguements. What I can tell you is it doesn't fricken matter what I think, it truly is non of my goddam business.

Go rent Walmart the High Cost of Low Price.
You will never step foot in one again, I promise.

Dear Muslim Community,
Tired of the world thinking you are all bat ass crazy? First step, do not insight a deadly world wide protest over cartoons. Next step quit blowing yourselves up with inoscent women and children in the name of Allah. And last but not least, get over your motha fucken selves.

This from a light pole in Seattle.

Coretta Scott King

Funny how the right is all up in arms over the Mrs. King funeral. I know Georgie is used to pre-screened audiences and applause-o-meters, but come on. Both Kings stood for PEACE, this is not out of line for her funeral:
We know now there were no weapons of mass destruction over there. [Standing Ovation] But Coretta knew and we know that there are weapons of misdirection right down here. Millions without health insurance. Poverty abounds. For war billions more but no more for the poor.
That was Reverand Lowery. I am not going to pretend I know what Mrs. King would have wanted for her funeral, but for the right to whine about someone pointing out the hypocrisy of spending billions on war and cutting funding to the poor is just bad taste.

Jimmy Carter had this to say:
[Mr. and Mrs. King] were not appreciated even at the highest levels of government. It was difficult for them, personally, with the civil liberties of both husband wife violated as they became the targets of secret government wiretapping and other surveillance.
Keep in mind that both Lowery & Carter were friends of Mrs. King.

Klowns & Kronies

George Deutsch resigned yesterday. He was a 24 year old Krony running NASA's public affairs office, who just happened to intern on Bush's 2004 presidential campaign. Wow, big surprise, a campaign Klown reassigned to a very influential position.

Anyways, he was the Klown responsible for trying to silence NASA climate expert James Hansen and insisting that all NASA reports add the word 'theory' after all instances of 'Big Bang'.

In an email from Deutsch to a contractor making web presentations for NASA, Deutsch concludes, the Big Bang is
"not proven fact; it is opinion... It is not NASA's place, nor should it be to make a declaration such as this about the existence of the universe that discounts intelligent design by a creator."
So he was fired for being an unqualified religious hack ?? Of course not, turns out the Bush Krony actually lied about getting a degree from A&M. Seriously think about it, this guy, who does not actually have a college degree, is put in charge of NASA's public relations office where he tries to peddle religion as science. Does it really surprise anyone that the Chinese are kicking our asses in science ??

Feingold - Maverick from WI

More from Feingold on the floor:
The President can't just bypass two branches of government, and obey only those laws he wants to obey. Deciding unilaterally which of our freedoms still apply in the fight against terrorism is unacceptable and needs to be stopped immediately.
The speech is one of the best I have read in a long time.
Please take a look.

On a side note, the right is fighting these hearings very hard. I would imagine that if the Senate finds the President has violated law, impeachment talk will go from a dull chatter to the front pages overnight. This is a very important fight for democrats.

Debunking King George

My homie lays down the smack over at TPM Cafe:
This administration reacts to anyone who questions this illegal program by saying that those of us who demand the truth and stand up for our rights and freedoms somehow has a pre-9/11 world view. In fact, the President has a pre-1776 world view. Our government has three branches, not one. And no one, not even the President, is above the law.
Russ Feingold is a democratic senator from my home state of Wisconsin.
If we had more politicians like Russ, this truly would be a better country.

Bush & Nixon, One in the Same

Draw you own conclusions from Scotty's breifing on Monday:
Q Does the President think he should obey the law? He put his hand on the Bible twice to uphold the Constitution. Wiretapping is not legal under the circumstances without a warrant.

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, I guess you didn't pay attention to the Attorney General's hearing earlier today, because he walked through very clearly the rationale behind this program. And, Helen, I think you have to ask are we a nation at war --

Q There is no rationale to disobey the law.

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, he's not -- are we a nation at war?

Q That's not the question.

MR. McCLELLAN: No, that is the issue here.

Q No, the question is, the point is there are means for him to go to war, get a warrant to spy on people.

MR. McCLELLAN: Enemy surveillance is critical to waging and winning war. It's one of the traditional tools of war.

Q Nobody says he doesn't have running room to --

MR. McCLELLAN: And the Attorney General outlined very clearly today how previous administrations have used the same authority and cited the same --

Q That doesn't make it legal.

MR. McCLELLAN: -- and cited the very same authority.

Q If they broke the law, that's too bad. You know what happened to Nixon when he broke the law.

MR. McCLELLAN: And we're going to continue doing everything we can within our power to protect the American people. This is a very different circumstance, and you know that.

Q No, I don't.
I don't either motha fucka, please explain.

Kronies & Klowns

Gonzales during the hearings yesterday:
Well, Senator, obviously if Congress were to take some kind of action, and say the president no longer has the authority to engage in electronic surveillance of the enemy, then I think that would put us into the third part of Justice Jackson's three-part test, and that would present a much harder question as to whether or not the president has the authority.
Two things, first, Gonzo, Congress did take some sort of action, it's called the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act or FISA.
Second, according to the top lawyer in the country, a law entacted by Congress would not stop Bush, just "present a much harder question as to whether or not the president has the authority".

What are all the kronies and klowns going to do post-Bush.
I wouldn't let Gonzo represent me in jay-walking court, or let Rummy plan a party, or let Rice... what does she do anyways. Whatever it is, I wouldn't let her do it on an unimportant level anyways.

Warentless Search Hearings

The Senate Judiciary Committee started the hearings yesterday on the President's and NSA's wartime eavesdropping authority .
Someone please explain to me why the republicans insisted on not swearing in Gonzalez, the biggest lawyer in the land, and the democrats insisted on swearing him in. And because the republicans have a majority, he wasted sworn in.

Quote of the day:
Biden: General, how has this revelation damaged the program? I'm almost confused by it but, I mean, it seems to presuppose that these very sophisticated Al Qaida folks didn't think we were intercepting their phone calls. I mean, I'm a little confused. How did it damage this?

Gonzales: Well, Senator, I would first refer to the experts in the Intel Committee who are making that statement, first of all. I'm just the lawyer. And so, when the director of the CIA says this should really damage our intel capabilities, I would defer to that statement. I think, based on my experience, it is true — you would assume that the enemy is presuming that we are engaged in some kind of surveillance.

But if they're not reminded about it all the time in the newspapers and in stories, they sometimes forget.
Fricken awesome, terrorist just forget we are listening. Maybe they'll forget their bombs tomorrow, maybe with any luck they will just forget that they hate the US.

Ya, Just another day in Bushville.

Fucking Republicans

Of course they didn't steal the election:
House Republicans are taking a mulligan on the first ballot for Majority Leader. The first count showed more votes cast than Republicans present at the Conference meeting.
If you care, Delay's replacement is John Boehner.
Business as usual on both parts.
